Agriculture is the foundation of our national economy. The method is Emergy analysis. The research isabout static and dynamic aspects of the agricultural eco-economic system of Gongyi City during1996-2010.The energy value of the index system was established. The sustainable development of agriculture wasevaluated. The followings are the results:(1) Emergy input and output of agricultural eco-economic system are1.93+21sej、1.47E+21sej inGongyi city in2010. The proportion of industrial auxiliary energy is54.59%,which is the largest in inputemergy. The emergy animal husbandry proportion is67.23%, which is the largest in ounput emergy.(2) The emergy yield ratio (EYR) is0.58, the auxiliary energy use efficiency was lower; The emergyinvestment ratio (EIR) is4.37, the efficient use of environmental resources is less, the level of economicdevelopment at a medium level; The emergy self-support ratio (ESR) is18.62%, indicating the naturalresource base of Gongyi City is deficient. The emergy density (ED) is1.8518E+11sej/m2, the use ofresources is inefficient; The emergy per person (EPP) is2.38E+15/person, the city farmers’ living standardis still low; The environmental load ratio (ELR) is4.9, the agricultural environment pressure is small; Theenvironmental sustainability index (ESI) is0.17, is a consumer-based economy system.(3) During1995-2010, the total investment in a downward trend, an upward trend in the total output.The mainly input energy is industrial auxiliary energy. The mainly output energy are crop and livestock.The output energy of forestry and fisheries are low.(4) During1995-2010, the increasing of EYR and ESR is irregular. The EIR、EPP and ED aredecreasing, but the trend is not obvious, and there is greater volatility. Description of the system level ofagricultural modernization and improved living standards of farmers, but the development of the system isunstable, indicating that there are obvious lack in the use of local natural resources, technology andinnovation.(5) During1995-2010, the value of ELR is declining; the value of ESI is increasing. The system isexposed to ambient pressure decreases, sustainable capacity increase, but marginally unstable.According to the results and combined the actual local situation of agricultural eco-economic system in Gongyi City, the following suggestions are made:(1) use of water resources reasonably;(2) optimize theindustrial structure of auxiliary inputs;(3) use and protection of arable land resources effectively;(4)strictly control population growth, improve the literacy of the population;(5) establish a sustainabledevelopment technology system and mode of operation.
