All kinds of economic activities are associated with a certain location. Due to thebasis of economic activities are different from place to place, economic activities arenot evenly distributed in different locations.Coupled with the impactof economies ofscaleas well aspoliciesand other factors,economic activitiestend to beconcentratedincertain locations. However, this spatial structure will change with thechange in objective conditions.Firstly, through economic density maps of Shandong Province and exploratoryspatial data analysis, this artical is to reveal the distribution of economic activities inShandong Province,study how it change over time and analyze interaction betweenthe different sub-regions. Secondly, this article will analyze the factors affectingeconomic spatial structure of the Shandong Province, using a combination ofqualitative and quantitative methods.Through the study we find: economic activities are extremely unevenlydistributed in Shandong Province, concentrated in the north; There are apparentinteractions between high value areas and low value areas. Polarization effects anddiffusion effects coexist. Transportation facilities, natural geography, foreign trade,resource endowments, and the development of developed urban agglomerationneighboring Shandong Province constitute important impacts on the distribution ofeconomic activities Shandong Province.
