Small size enterprises, micro enterprises, family-owned enterprises, and individual industrial and commercial households collectively call small and micro businesses. As a force in terms of national economic development, they are playing an increasing important role in boosting economical growth, promoting employment, activating market atmosphere and meeting the growing people’s demand. In recent years, small and micro businesses develop rapidly and have become an important force for economic growth. With the opportunity and challenge in the market environment, small and micro businesses must straighten out their labor relations in order to obtain long-term development. However, small and micro businesses generally face the unbalance between employers and employees and frequent labor disputes which will not only make their livelihoods more difficult but also cause serious social problems if they are not paid enough attention and persuasion. Currently, government and academia are concentrated in financial support, tax break, etc. of the small and micro businesses and paid less attention to their labor relation situation. Therefore, it has important theoretical and practical significance for preventing and regulating labor conflicts and improving labor relations to investigate small and micro businesses’labor relation situations and analyze deeper reasons.Learning the essence and finding out the deficiencies from existing research results both at home and abroad with the theory of labor relations, this thesis did a comprehensive investigation and research from two aspects. And then recommendations are made for small and micro businesses building harmonious labor relations. Taking Beijing for example, this research took a random sampling method to extract25small and micro businesses and their workers for the survey, using the method of in-depth interviews and questionnaire. Understanding the situation of the employee relation management through interviews with small and micro businesses owners; analyzing the employees’evaluation of the small and micro businesses’labor relations with SPSS statistic analysis software. Finally, on the basis of previous empirical analysis, this thesis made suggestions on how to improve the small and micro businesses’labor relations from separately the government, enterprises and workers.
