Climatic issue is a global issue and also a major concern whether the society could develop sustainably. It has a great influence on countries as well as the development of international economy and trade. While the export trade is promoting economic development, it causes high pollutant discharge. Over recent years, the export amount of our country has been growing rapidly, and the industrial features, such as "low additional values, heavy pollution, and high consumption", have led to the deformity of the economic structure and serious environmental pollution in our country. The export of mechanical and electrical products is one of the main reasons for high carbon emission in our nation. This paper takes the typical mechanical and electrical product-laptop for example, and by computing the carbon emission based on the life cycle of the product, reveals the characteristics of carbon transfer in the process of trade, providing the scientific base for national low-carbon development and environmental diplomacy conversation.This paper analyzes the definition of carbon footprint and the present situation of research on carbon footprint at home and abroad, and introduces the analytical method of carbon footprint, LCA as well as the corresponding evaluation standard of carbon footprints of some products. Through analyzing the definition and taking the characteristics of products into consideration, we select the evaluation standard PAS2050which is suitable for the analysis of the carbon footprint of laptop. In addition, discussion is focused on the characteristics of laptop industry and the export status of laptops of our country to provide reference for the following carbon footprint calculation of export products.In this article, a life cycle assessment framework of laptop is established. The assessment scope includes stages of production, transportation, application and ultimate disposal of laptop. Through the data collection of laptops, a typical evaluation model for laptops is established to conduct the inventory analysis. Finally, the carbon footprint of the laptop has been evaluated and analyzed through the evaluation tool of simapro. The result shows that the production phase of the laptop contributes the most to its carbon footprint, from which the carbon emission is482kg, and that the main factor of high carbon emission is the use of chemical substances containing fluorine and acid containing liquid during the working process of display module.By combining the industry characteristics and export characteristics of laptop based on the evaluation result of laptop carbon footprint, a typical evaluation model of export laptop in our country is established to analyze the carbon transformation characteristic of laptop. A conclusion is made that2/5percent of carbon emission of export laptop production is from foreign country and the rest3/5is from China. From this, we can see that the carbon trace of export laptop production is produced by both foreign countries and China and the market need of foreign country is the main reason for carbon emission in domestic laptop production.By analyzing the carbon transfer characteristic, corresponding policy references which fit for the exported notebook computers in our country are put forward. This essay discusses the spatial scale and data sources of laptop production, completing the system marge and calculating more accurate carbon footmark of laptop. It is based on the import and export of laptops in our country and discussed the characteristics of carbon transfer of export products, mainly laptops. And based on the research, it puts forward policy suggestions that are more suitable for the export of laptops.
