Model Of High-tech Enterprises’ Contribution To Low Carbon Economy

Since the industrial revolution, social productivity has been improved greatly, which provides great convenience for human beings. But excessive consumption of energies has brought about great pressure to resources and environment. Excessive resource consumption and irreversible environmental damage lead to serious ecological crisis. The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere increases and global warming trend accelerates. Environmental problem has become one of the most serious challenges towards the world economic development.From the United Nations framework convention on climate change to the Kyoto protocol, and then to post-Kyoto negotiations and the Copenhagen accord of world climate conference in2009, the solution to the problem of energy shortage and global climate issue is clear. It has become the inevitable choice to develop low-carbon economy for social sustainable development.High and new technology enterprises have high technologies and human resources, high innovation ability and rarely depend on natural resources. These advantages can promote the development of low carbon economy. Whether high and new technology enterprises can promote the development of low carbon economy or not and how to measure their contribution will be discussed in this paper.Contents of this paper are divided into three parts:The first part is introduction. In this part, I introduce the background and significance of the study, ideas and content as well as innovation points of this paper.In the second part, I introduce the relevant theories of low-carbon economy and high-tech enterprises. First I discuss the connotation of low carbon economy, the factors affecting the development of low-carbon economy and the implementation way of low carbon economy. Then, I illustrate the effects of the high and new technology enterprises on low carbon economy development, and emphasize their missions in energy conservation and emissions reduction.The third part is the focus of this paper. It is about construction and application of low carbon economy development contribution model. Compared with the whole economy, the impact of a single high and new technology enterprise to the low carbon economy development is negligible. In order to measure and compare contribution of different high and new technology enterprises to low carbon economy, I use low carbon economy promoting coefficient. The calculation process of the model is divided into three steps. First, compute the contribution of high and new technology industry to low carbon economy. Then calculate the low carbon level of the high and new technology enterprise in the industry. Low carbon economy promoting coefficient of the high and new technology enterprise equals the contribution of high and new technology industry to low carbon economy multiplied by its low carbon level. In the end of the paper, I select a high and new technology enterprise as a sample and calculate its low carbon economy promoting coefficient.
