Organic disulfides and diselenides are widely used. Disulfides are used in energy storage materials, edible flavoring, the rubber vulcanization accelerator, anti-inflammatory, medicine of anticancer, relieving pain and cough and so on and diselenides are important reagents in organic synthesis which can be used in solid phase separation of photoconductive material and inhibition of cancer and other medicine. Since Se catalytic CO system was discovered by Japanese scholars Sonoda, aromatic aldehyde has been used to synthetize organic disulfides and diselenides.Based on this, our research aim to make further development and innovation on the established Se/CO/H2O catalytic reduction system, applied it to a convenient, environment friendly, low cost synthetic route for the reaction of disulfides and selenide with alkyl halides as raw material. Now, in the synthesis methods of disulfides and diselenides, products are symmetrical or asymmetrical disulfides and diselenides, this paper intramolecular disulfides and diselenides will attempt to be synthetised.This paper makes a systematic study on synthesized disulfides rule with alkyl halides as raw material in Se/CO/H2O. We find that benzyldisulfide can be synthetised high yeild(86.99 %) with polar aprotic solvent DMF 40 mL as solvent, selenium powder 0.4 mmol as a catalyst, moderate alkaline salts NaOAc as the catalyst, and CO/H2O as the reducing agent(2 mLH2O), in atmospheric conditions.
