Air hammer drilling is one of the most effective method of drilling hard formation and medium hard rock formations. Because the drilling speed is fast and low cost and straight borehole etc. it has been widely used because of its own advantages compared to conventional drilling fluid drilling system. Because development production requires high yield and less damage to the target reservoir.it needs to combine horizontal well drilling technology and air hammer drilling technology.At present the air hammer causes some problems when it is used for drilling horizontal wells and directional well.This text conducted a detailed study on the comprehensive investigation of the references of air hammer and domestic DTH. Combine air hammer and drilling machine principle which be used widely in domestic and international air hammer. Designed a new gas-driven air hammer can rotate automatically. Directional air hammer makes piston upward rotation when upward rotation returns before reaching upward dead-point. The piston impacts the rectangular tooth of the bottom of block valve with a certain speed and gets the torque to boost the air hammer shell rotation to drive the bit rotation in the bottom. This paper introduces the working principle of the directional air hammer and structural features. We have designed the key components such as swivel joint and shock bodies and rotor and valve seats and pistons etc.We have established the kinematics and dynamics model and the gas equation of state and acceleration of the differential equations and differential equations of the piston velocity and Piston displacement equation and the gas flow equation of state. Analysis the movements of air hammer by MATALB.Using the Finite element analysis software ABAQUS to check the strength of main components of air hammer to meet the work requirements of the bottom-well under complicated conditions.On the application of the national invention patent and utility model patents at the same time, has made a CAD drawing, and then further optimize the design of the prototype after the processing.
