Two series of Dibenzoyl-(-)-P-methoxy-L-tartaric acid (DMTA) and Di-p-toluoyl-L-tartaric acid (DTTA) lanthanide coordination polymers have been isolated, e.g.{[Ln(L-DMTA)2(Et3NH)(H2O)2(CH3OH)2]·2H2O}n(Ln=La (1), Ce (2), Pr (3), Nd (4), Sm (5), En (6), Gd (7), Tb (8), Dy (9), Ho (10), Er (11), Yb(12), Lu (13), Gd0.93Eu0.03Tb0.04(14)),{[SmxLny(L-DMTA)2Et3NH(CH3OH)2(H2O)2]·2H2O}n (Ln=La (15), Ce (16), Pr (17), Nd (18), Gd (19), Dy (20), Ho (21), Er (22), Yb (23), Lu (24); x=0.49-0.51, y=0.49-0.51).[Ln(L-DTTA)2(H2O)5]n (Ln=La (25), Ce (26), Pr (27), Nd (28), Sm (29), Eu (30), Gd (31), Tb (32), Dy (33), Ho (34), Er (35), Yb (36), Lu (37), Gd0.95Eu0.03Tb0.02(48)), and [SmxLny(L-DTTA)2(H2O)5]n (Ln=La (38), Ce (39), Pr (40), Nd (41), Gd (42), Dy (43), Ho (44), Er (45), Yb (46), Lu (47); x=0.46~0.54, y=0.46~0.54).All complexes were characterized by IR, UV, TG, PXRD, and elemental analysis. Their possible structures, one-dimensional chain structure, are proposed on the basis of the PXRDanalysis. In which, each rare earth ions are nine-coordinate distorted tricapped prismatic structure.The luminescences for single, di-lanthanide-mixed and tri-lanthanid-mixed coordination complexs have been investigated. The characterized luminescent emissions of lanthanide ions, turnable color and nearly white light have been observed. The energy transfers between ligand and lanthanide ions have been discussed.It extends the structure and luminescence of lanthanide coordination complexes.
