In domestic, the instrument for measuring radon concentration in soil mostly isFD-3017, which uses active pumping method, this method greatly is affected byhuman factors, and only for a single measurement, and the instrument is semi-quantitative measurement, the soil could not be used for continuous monitoring ofradon concentration in soil. A fast, reliable radon concentration in soil monitor isdesigned to improve indoor radon pollution prevention methods and evaluationmethods items, improve people’s living room environment, protect human health, topromote the development of China’s earthquake prediction, reduce people’s propertydamage caused by the earthquake and ensure people’s safety.This paper studies a method based on electrostatic collection of soil radonconcentration monitor base on double-chamber method. Dual-chamber are soil radonsampling chamber and the measurement chamber, the sample chamber buried in soilof measured depth, dual-chamber are connected by hose, forming a loop in radon inthe collection chamber and the measurement chamber, when the radon concentrationin soil and the radon concentration in sampling chamber are equilibrium, the monitorbegin to measure, the result is radon concentration in soil, the paper reached in thetheory of electrostatic collection method to measure radon and dual-chamber methodto measure radon concentration in soil, the method that is feasible was validated byexperiments.The monitor used STC12C Series MCU control system measurement control anddata processing, storage. Experiments about the detector efficiency effects of differentshape and size of the measuring chamber were studied, and the structure and size ofthe dual-chamber design and optimization. The monitor have temperature and humidity correction method, and correction of218Po residual iterative in short cyclemeasurement. At high concentration measurement stability is good, and the relativestandard deviation was2.7%, because the soil radon concentration is relatively high,so the monitor of dual-chamber method to measure radon concentration in soil tomeet the actual demand, outcome of on-site measurement of soil indicate that thedual-chamber radon concentration is feasible, and achieve continuous measurement ofradon concentration in soil, through the research of dual-chamber method to measureradon concentration in soil monitor provide technical support for development of thepotential soil radon concentration measurement instruments.
