With the development of science and technology, efficiency becomes the underlyingfactors of productivity effect. Enterprises are in pursuit of high efficiency and machinetools develop in the high-speed, high-precision and heavy-load direction. Linear rollingguide as a functional unit is widely used in machine tools and the problem of its brakingfunction and stiffness looms large. Numerous studies have demonstrated that addingcomponent-clamping device to linear rolling guide is the only effective solution. Only afew advanced countries in the world master technologies of clamping device and theyshare it internally. The development of clamping device lacks of technologies in China.It’s necessary to research the theory of clamping device.This dissertation conducted in-depth research on linear guide and clamping device,considered the functional characteristics which clamping device should satisfied, followedthe general principle of mechanical design and designed a new hydraulic normally openclamping device for linear rolling guide of HTPM. Strength check has been proceedtoward the transmission of new clamping device. Test schemes of retentivity an answertime were proposed.This dissertation elaborated the wear mechanism and characteristics of clampingdevice in braking process, summarized the main form of wear, establish the relativesliding model between clamping device and linear rolling guide. Wear model of clampingdevice was established based on Tribology theory and Fractal Principle. Considering theinfluence of the tangential force on the contact area and the actual contact surface, thewear model of clamping device was revised. The model has dynamic characteristics andreflect the influence of surface topography on wear.By synthetically comparing friction material, finally semi metallic friction material without asbestos was chosen as the material which was used in friction contact surface ofclamping device. The meaning and determining method of unknown parameters of wearmodel was studied. The effects of fractal dimension on were analyzed. The correctness ofthe wear model was verified by simulation.The research methods and achievements of the wear model illustrated in this paperhave academic guidance significance for the research of other types of clamping devices,and they have certain engineering importance.
