Electroplating baths part is one of the most important components for electroplatingproduction line, and it also makes foundation for electroplating production line to obtaina relatively higher structural efficiency and good performance, hence, the requirement forproduction manufacturing is increasing among enterprises. While, in the process ofelectroplating baths designing and manufacturing, massive similar parts bring lots ofrepetitive efforts for designing. This paper aims to combine parametric design withsecondary development of CATIA, and do research on CATIA3D modeling software, which are all based on characteristics of electroplating bath parts that have various kindsand complex structure, that provide significant practical suggestions for improving thedesigning efficiency of electroplating bath parts.According to types’ differentiation and structural classification, electroplating bathparts are divided by design features. A parametric design is achieved by applyingelectroplating bath’ CATIA3D modeling, designing drive parameters, and associatingassembly drawing with parts’ parameter that makes use of CATIA knowledgeengineering module. Meanwhile, electroplating bath parts’3D modeling and designingwill come out through interactive parametric designing of parametric system which isbased on secondary development of CATIA/CAA, the technique of object-orientedprogramming and visual interface. The successful3D parametric design and development of electroplating bath partswill enhance design efficiency of the structure in electroplating production line, shortenthe development cycle of electroplating bath product, and improve utilization of existedresources.
