FRP tank is one of the most widely used products in resin matrix composite products.Compared with traditional metal and reinforced concrete, it has the following characteristics: good corrosion resistance; high strength and light weight; good effect of heat insulation and preservation; easy molding; easy installation and convenient transportation, etc. For those large tanks with liquids and more than 100 m3 of volume,vertical type is more commonly used. At present, the structure design and finite-element analysis technology of the vertical FRP tanks have become important research directions.In the phase of product design, applying finite-element analysis in the design of vertical FRP tank can improve the reliability of structure design, effectively shorten product design period and reduce the testing cost.After long-time preparation, this subject researches the FRP enterprises’ demands for product design and analysis and the study on vertical FRP tanks is mainly carried out in the following aspects:First, to confirm the design scheme of vertical FRP tanks. Under the requirements of a certain condition, a type of the vertical FRP tank is designed, mainly including structural design, component design and process design;Second, finite-element analysis of vertical FRP tanks. To establish the finite-element analysis process of FRP tanks, analyze the strain capacity of the tanks after filled with water and optimize the tank structure.
