Vertical storage tank is the important facilities of natural gas and oil resources storage, in case of the earthquake disaster, the consequences is very serious. At present isolation can effectively control the earthquake response. In view of this,the paper aims at vertical storage tank existing research results of base isolation at home and abroad, parallel rolling isolation and sand cushion isolation,carry out vertical storage tank ring beam rolling isolation device design and numerical simulation under the national natural science fund project large vertical floating roof tank comprehensive damping technology and theory (51078063/E0808) funding.The research content includes:(1) Summarize vertical storage tank seismic research progress, mainly discuss the research situation of base isolation, detailedly narrative the current research status of the sand cushion isolation, belt groove rolling isolation and parallel isolation,etc.(2) Use model storage tank as the research object,apply the ADINA finite element software establishs ring beam rolling isolation device finite element model,and carries on the mechanical properties analysis with model storage tank. The results show that:the ring beam rolling isolation device has good hysteretic energy dissipation effect, its equivalent stiffness and equivalent damping coefficient is related to the loading frequency and vertical compressive stress. Combined with the the results of analysis gives equivalent stiffness and equivalent damping coefficient design expression of meeting the design requirements.(3) Take150000square large vertical storage tanks as the research object, establish ring beam rolling isolation tank and the non isolation tank finite element model, dampening effect analysis, and compare finite element solution with theoretical analysis, the results show that: the ring beam rolling isolation tank compared to the non isolation tank dynamic fluid pressure, the wall acceleration, base shear, the wall stress,etc significantly lower, but the control of wave height is not obvious.(4) Conduct the ring beam rolling isolation tank the parameters impact analysis, the results show that:storage tank in the design of seismic isolation should cautious consider using the coefficient of variation and standard deviation larger seismic waves; With friction of sand cushion coefficient decreasing, ring beam rolling isolation tank shock absorption rate gradually increases, but the isolation can’t effectively control shaking wave height;.With isolation cycle increasing, shock absorption rate increases.With the earthquake intensity increasing, vertical storage tank base shear overturning moment of tank base, effective dynamic stress, dynamic fluid pressure present first increasesand then decrease.however, shaking wave high damping ratio gradually increases.(5) Put forward to vertical storage tank ing beam rolling isolation device design method of a kind of applied to storage, and take model tank for example, design isolation device parameters.
