Development on the electric rotary table and control system of 40 JD drilling rig is based on the programmable controller technology, frequency conversion technology and motor drive technology as the theoretical basis, using the frequency converter to control AC variable frequency motor to replace the original mechanical power source, and STEP7 is used to write PLC program to control frequency converter in order to control the rotary table.In this paper, the operational principle of electric rotary table and the method of frequency converter control are analyzed and studied to realize foreward, reversal and stepless speed regulation of the rotary table as well as dynamic braking by using the frequency converter to control the converter motor one-on-one.The aim is to improve the rate of penetration, reduce drilling incident and deal with downhole complications easily by using less investment to meet the rising demand for drilling rig driven by the growing development of drilling technology,With frequency converter to realize the transformation, STEP7 to write the control system programming, Siemens communication to realizes the communication, it makes signal transmission more stable and reliable, and anti-interference ability stronger. At the same time, MP370 touch screen is used as a hot standby in driller control house, so that the touch screen backup can work immediately, in case the main touch screen failed, to make sure the system stability...
