Rotary worktable is one of basic components of machining center and it is aexecutive component of machining center. It takes part in the production of machinetool. It’s dynamic property has great effect on processing quality of machining center,processing surface finish and production efficiency. Therefore, the processability ofmachining center depends on rotary worktable’s dynamic property.The rotary worktable system is the fourth axis of the machining center,itsnatural frequencies has an important effect on it’s dynamic property. In the process ofcutting, the natural frequencies can affect the responding speed、precision andstability of the system. When the CNC instruction signal’s frequency come closely tothe natural frequencies, the resonance comes out, which will affect the machiningprecision of the parts. At present, research methods about natural frequencies containAnalytical method、Experimental method and Simulation method. In this paper, thewriter gain the natural frequencies by adopting the Simulation method and usingmodal analysis with the ANSYS Workbench finite element tool, which can providetheoretical reference basis for the structure parameter design of the CNC320rotarytable.After optimization, the volume of the rotary worktable was decreased by12.9%,the static deformation was decreased by14.0%, the first-order natural frequency wasincreased by19.2%. So the spindle static and dynamic performance were improved.
