In order to meet the demand for oilfield products polyacrylamide diversity and to optimize the polymerization process, detailed analysis about their product quality requirements of polyacrylamide were conducted by view the use of existing molecular weight polyacrylamide production technology and production equipment, without increasing production costs in the case, by optimizing the production process and operating parameters, adjusting the catalyst, the original recipe for targeted mass change and improvement, and put into mass production process.In this paper, research on polyacrylamide polymerization process was carried out, and the main contents are as follows. First, the experimental conditions on the quality of polyacrylamide analysis of the reaction processes were discussed, such as the principles reaction of polyacrylamide polymerization process, the effects of catalysts and content of catalyst, and the reactive conditions. In order to solve the problem of product quality in the process of polymerization, many methods are adopted by control the dissolved concentration, p H value by varying the amount of the catalyst species and the test means, the initial temperature of the reaction, the amount of hydrolyzing agent is added, dryer operating temperature and pressure, and adjust the pitch of the double knife granulator screen eye diameter, etc. The above methods not only solved the original polymerization process of product quality issues, but also improve the polyacrylamide(PAM) of the synthesis efficiency, increasing the molecular weight polyacrylamide to reach 16 million or more.
