Due to the benzene ring structure, the transparency, insulation index, strength of bisphenol A epoxy resin would greatly reduce under ultraviolet light. After replaced the benzene ring structure with cyclohexane, the hydrogenated bisphenol A epoxy resin (HBPA-EP) has better weather ability and more outstanding performance as coating, encapsulation, electrical insulating materials. In this dissertation, HBPA-EP and hydrogenated bisphenol A polycarbonate (HBPA-PC) were studied, and the main research results are as follow:HBPA-EP was prepared through epichlorohydrin and hydrogenated bisphenol A in the presence of catalyst and alkali. The product was characterized by 1H NMR.The HBPA-EP was cured with polyamines or anhydrides. The curing reaction of the HBPA-EP with different hardeners was investigated by DSC, and the curing conditions, apparent activation energies, as well as the reaction kinetics equations are determined. As the result for the hardener 1,3-cyclohexanedimethanamine, liquid polyamide, cis-hexahydrophthalic anhydride or methyl hexahydrophthalic anhydride, the curing condition is 110℃/2h+150℃/4h,90℃/2h+120℃/4h,130℃/2h+ 150℃/4h or 140℃/2h+160℃/4h, respectively. The apparent activation energy is 50.62 kJ/mol,56.88 kJ/mol,74.56 kJ/mol, or 68.36 kJ/mol, respectively. The reaction order of the four hardeners is 0.886,0.901,0.915, or 0.905, respectively.The HBPA-PC was synthesized by transesterification polycondensation method. Instead of diphenyl carbonate, di-tert-butyl carbonate was innovatively used in the preparation of HBPA-PC prepolymer, the reaction took place more easily and the existence of benzene ring was avoided. Polycarbonate could be prepared by polycondensation of prepolymer only or both prepolymer and hydrogenated bisphenol A. The results of gel permeation chromatography(GPC) suggested that the Mw of HBPA-PC synthesized by prepolymer only was 5500g/mol, which was far bigger than which synthesized by prepolymer and hydrogenated bisphenol A.
