The system of mine transportation is one of the key parts of the open-pit mine production. The investment in the mine construction is relatively large. If the strategies were fault, we will lose greatly.This paper takes the YuLong gypsum mine transportation system as the object of the research. The transit system’s present situation and development trend and the widely used open-pit transport means were analyzed.,Combined with the Yulong gypsum mining area surrounding terrain, three transportation means, i.e., the single highway transportation, the single adhesive tape transportation, and the transport road - crushing station - belt combined transport way, were compared. The final identified miner’s transportation system (the transport road - crushing station - belt combined transport way) was determined. The results are as follows.1. Compared with the single highway transportation, the transport road -crushing station - belt combined transport way has a significant cost advantage in the early stage of investment and the late run.2. Compared with the single adhesive tape transportation, the cost has no big difference. But the combined transport way can better adapt to the change of mine exploitation surface, shorten the construction period, overcome the terrain change, and ensure the continuity of mining.3. In the highway transportation part from mine exploitation surface to crushing station, building a 1.3 km transport road has less cost and the higher security, when compared with excavation of a double trench walla 0.8 km mine road transport.4. By using the technologic experiences of the belt conveyor of the Group Corporation wollastonite mine belt conveyor, the gravitational potential energy was used to generate electricity. It is estimated that the annual generation capacity is about 3 million kilowatt hour.5. The combined transportation way can not only satisfy the transportation needs of enterprises with annual output of 4 million tons, but also take full account of the demands of environmental protection and energy saving in the modern society..It shows the development trend of high efficiency, energy saving, and low freight rates in modern transportation system of open pit.
