The costume’s culture of Baiku Yao has a long history. It is unique and has strong ethnic characteristicsin the whole traditional culture of Yao nationality. Traditional textile technology,as a part of Yaonationality clothing culture, possesses very important position. Traditional textile technology is essentialin clothes-making process. Not only it shows the culture of traditional clothes-making in Baiku Yaointegrally, but also is a fine carrier that recording the history and culture of Baiku Yao. Up to now,Bai-kuYao still keep traditional clothes-making process, and it is a very valuable research to scholars in differentareas.The author selected huai-li countryside(the village is located in li-hu country of Yao nationality, NanDan county, Guang Xi province) as a mainly research site, and carried out several times of field study anddigging deeper into details to the traditional textile technology in Baiku Yao. Firstly, the author figure outthe whole process of the traditional textile technology of Baiku Yao relatively intact and systematically.Secondly, the author elaborate the changes of traditional textile technology in Baiku Yao with theaesthetics from the aspects of living environment,history and culture,folk artists,textile raw materials,weaving tools and textile process.Thirdly, the traditional textile technology in Baiku Yao is facingseveral problems in the process of inheritance and development. To handle the problems and give otherscholars some meaningful reference to do further research, the author give some corresponding protectivemeasures.The author is trying to find a way by the research for traditional textile technology in BaikuYao,with the hope that it can survive, develop and be inherited under the impact ofmodern industrial civilization.
