Today, the academic burden of school-age children is increasing heavily, the time of daily using study chair is getting longer. Through a variety of news reports and research analysis found there is a big problem of children poor sitting posture in class. Poor posture caused serious influence on children’s growth and development, children sitting correction has become essential. Previous programming techniques using a variety of sensors at posture correction system and smart chair design, has initially solved the problem of monitoring human posture. It provided relevant ideas for the design of posture correction system in this paper. Previous research on the optimal posture of the body support the theoretical basis of the study chair design in this paper.In this paper, school-age children is chosen for the study, it described the concept of school-age children in detail, school-age children’s physical and psychological development. The research based on school-age children sitting posture literature, it conducted the real field surveys including interviews and video analysis. It summarized the school-age children’s sitting behavior into two major categories of lectures and assignments. This paper introduced in detail the study chair physiological factors and the physiological parameters about children, it presented children’s optimal sit-ting posture, and then come to learn chairs feature size and design principles. The study chair was designed and fabricated a prototype, and was set up for children’s posture correction effect lectures based on results of previous studies. Design school-age children sitting comfort experiment by EMG test, the body pressure distribution test and other objective evaluation methods as well as children’s subjective evaluation method combining test to verify the effectiveness of the learning of children sitting chair correction. Use Kinect device to capture children sitting with the Processing programming techniques to solve computing problems and the development of children sitting on the critical angle correction system host computer; Use Arduino development platform to solve the lower machine system development. It has validated the sensitivity and feasibility of the adaptive study chair through sitting experiments. Finally, the children study chair sitting comfort prototype experiment found that the issue of children’s work is not ideal posture correction. It proposed to improve adaptive chair for children, it presented the concepts and renderings about the study chair.This paper focuses on the effectiveness of children sitting correction when using the adaptive study chair and the feasibility of adaptive correction applied Kinect chairs for children to learn in. The starting point for the design and verification of study chair are based on previous research, it was supplemented by live experiments, it has some practical value and academic significance. The method of this study using Kinect in the adaptive study chair also can apply to some other smart products. It has reference value for the Kinect application in the smart products.
