Graphene has become one of the hottest new materials all over the world with its excellent mechanical, thermal, electrical properties. However, due to its large specific surface area and the van der Waals force, graphene is easy to aggregate and graphitize in the composites with poor dispersibility, it is hard to exhibit excellent properties inherent to itself. Therefore, how to disperse graphene in the composites effectively is the key and difficult point. In this paper, we try to identify ways to improve the material strength, thermal and electrical properties by studying the preparation and properties of functionalized graphene and polysiloxane composites. Thereby,we obtained the composites with excellent physical and chemical properties, the details and results of research were as follows:1. By modified Hummers method and the use of chemical reduction, high temperature reduction we prepared the graphene oxide and graphene. As a filler, we study the effect of thermal conductivity of composites with different preparation methods of graphene. The results show: it has little effect on the thermal conductivity of the composites, because of poor interface quality, so improve the compatibility between the graphene and polysiloxane is the first need to improve the performance of composites,.2. In order to improve the compatibility between the graphene and polysiloxane, we use a silane coupling agent dodecyltrimethoxy silane and the nickel foam, to modify the graphene by covalent functionalization and to build a 3D network structure. The results show: the modified graphene can be uniformly dispersed in the organic solvent, and the compatibility between the graphene and polysiloxane was improved.3. Compared to the covalent functionalized surface modification, we also carried out the esperiments of noncovalent functionalization of graphene by introducing silica as modification molecules. The electrical properties of graphene / silica and the mechanical, thermal stability of its composites with polysiloxane was studied. The results show: the specific capacity of graphene / silica can be obtained by controlling the content of silica effectivly, and as a filler for composites, the mechanical, thermal stability of its polysiloxane composites was increased significantly.
