Papermaking skill is one of the four inventions in ancient China and has made a remarkable contribution in the process of human civilization. At present, China’s paper and paperboard production. the total consumption ranked first in the word. However, papermaking solid waste pollution has become increasingly serious with the rapidly development of the paper industry. This study was one part of "the twelfth five-year-plan" in national science and technology for the rural development in China (No.2012BAD23B0204) which aimed at improving additional value of solid waste produced in processing of bamboo pulping and papermaking, reducing the waste of resources and protecting the environment. This article was composed by three parts: the basic properties of solid waste produced in processing of bamboo pulping and papermaking, the technology of bamboo paper sludge/floating beads composite board and the technology of foamed composite. Mainly, analyzed the effect of different factors on properties of composite materials which can provide supporting data and reference for industry applying of papermaking solid waste. The results are summarized as follows:(1) The moisture content of wet bamboo papermaking solid waste was 50.1%, pH value is 6.84. The content fiber in bamboo papermaking solid waste was 12.76%. The content of ash was 36.73%.(2) The content of Klason lignin was 27.27%; the content of extractive was 2.56%; the content of Pentosan was 3.57%; the content of cellulose was 18.10%.(3) There were different amounts of metal elements in bamboo papermaking solid waste in which the highest content were A1 (0.932%) and Ca (1.34%).(4) The absorption peaks of celluloses and hemicelluloses were notable. There was amorphous SiO2 in bamboo papermaking solid waste.(5) The influence sequence of factors of the composite panels is particle size> thickness> the ration of sludge and floating beads. In addition, the optimal process is particle size 20-40 mesh、80% bamboo paper sludge mix with 20% floating beads and the thickness of panel is 14 mm.When the content of lime mud was 50/%, the bending strength was 29.17MPa, living up to GB/T 24137-2009. While, tensile strength was 3.13MPa can not satisfy the standard. The result was suitable for the content of aluminum acid ester. When the content of aluminum acid ester was 0.5%, the bending strength was 30.52MPa. tensile strength was 3.15MPa.
