Located in the county of LuFeng, Yunnan province, the copper deposition is sulphide ore with the grade of copper and sulfur respective0.74%and0.72%. The copper deposition has not been exploited. In order to investigate the feasibility of exploiting the copper deposition, we researched on recovering copper sulphode by flotation process and pharmacy system.This research includes:technological mineralogy, probe test, the degree of fineness of grinding, use level tests of flotation reagents, flotation time of roughing, cleaning test, pyrite depression, the test of oxidation ore, closed-circuit test, flotation product test and the influence of sodium silicate on flotation.Probe test shows that the grade of copper concentration is27.58%and pyrite has no influence on the grade of copper. The copper is single copper. We recover copper only.The test showed that.grinding fineness from60%to92%of-0.037mm is acceptable,the60%(80%of-0.074mm) is the best;the dosage of xanthate be170g/t is conducive to the flotation;the lime will not be used; the dosage of sodium silicate from400g/t to700g/t is acceptable,the400g/t is the best;the flotation time of roughing be5min is conducive to the flotation;the flotation concentrate of second cleaning test contains22.89%copper, the flotation concentrate of third cleaning test contains25.78%copper;adding reagent is conducive to the flotation; the sodium sulfide will not be used.The closed-circuit test showed that,when the grinding fineness be80%of-0.074mm,the dosage of xanthate be170g/t,the dosage of sodium silicate be400g/t,the flotation contains one rough flotation two scavenging flotations and three cleaning flotations, the flotation concentrate could be obtained with copper grade22.65%、recovery89.85%.The influence of sodium silicate on flotation is believed to inhibit quartz, silicate gangue mineral, improve the concentrate grade, disperse slime and reduce the viscosity of pulp.But the flotation test shows that sodium silicate can not improve the concentrate grade and reduce the viscosity of pulp unobviously. It is meaningful to study on the influence of sodium silicate with flotation.
