Vacuum smelting furnace has been widely used as a new vacuum smelting equipment, because of its operation is simple, low energy consumption, less environmental pollution, high work efficiency, and other significant advantages, as well as occupy a pivotal position in the development of new materials and nonferrous metallurgy extraction and other areas. As science and technology is changing day by day, vacuum smelting furnace performance and structure has achieved a qualitative leap, a large number used in non-ferrous metallurgical industry. However, our smelting process control technology and automation level is relatively still in development stage, to a great extent, restricted the development of vacuum melting furnace. Intelligent control technology embedded into the vacuum melting furnace practice, realized by intelligent vacuum smelting furnace through actual project,it will be future research focus.Because vacuum smelting furnace temperature is the most critical parameter, so this paper studies vacuum smelting process temperature control. Firstly, discuss the distribution of furnace temperature, and then, test temperature inside furnace according to the distribution of temperature field of furnace, and finally, design temperature control system based on the detected temperature from vacuum furnaces. Because vacuum smelting is a time-varying, non-linear, first-order lag element of pure inertia control object, and it is difficult to establish a precise mathematical model.it is very difficult to get ideal control effect through Conventional PID control. In this paper, use vacuum furnaces as background of project,and design contro system based on fuzzy self-tuning PID control algorithm precision, which has fast response, almost no overshoot characteristics, while improve overall system performance at the same time.On the basis of the process and control requirements, introduces the overall system architecture, design a set of lower-level PLC control + Host DCS Wincc monitoring of distributed control systems. Throughout the smelting process, it can realize synchronous acquisition, real-time display and process timely data storage site, which can set process to produce value and query historical trend curves and other related information function, meanwhile improve the efficiency and management level.Through multiple stand-alone systems and online debugging, the system has been put into operation, achieve the control requirements for vacuum smelting process. the system is stable and reliable At the same time, achieveing process control in vacuum smelting technology, producing certain social and economic benefits.
