Isopropanol is an important industrial chemical and product, which has been widely used in the field of medication, pesticide, perfume, cosmetics, plastics, paint. The industrial production method of isopropanol is propylene hydration, the method is mainly divided into the propylene indirect hydration and the dirct hydration of propylene. At present, the main technology of isopropanol production in China is vapor direct hydration, catalyst is important. This paper focuses on the research of solid phosphoric acid catalyst, which is mainly used in the gas phase method of isopropanol preparation for direct hydration, and the effects of phosphoric acid SBA-15 catalyst, Zr-Ce-SBA-15 metal oxide catalysts, Zr-Ce-SBA-15 phosphoric acid catalyst preparation and process conditions. Mainly includes the following two aspects:(1) Fixed bed experiments were carried out on the industrial phosphoric acid catalyst, using the condition of industrial reaction, volume space velocity of propylene gas is 1200h-1, the molar ratio of propylene and water is 1:0.7, the reaction temperature (190~250 ℃) and reaction pressure (1.6~2.5 MPa) were investigated, the results show that:the optimum reaction temperature is 220 ℃, the best the reaction pressure is 2.2 MPa, the propylene conversion per pass at 2.54%, selectivity up to 99.3%;(2) Develop new catalysts. Using mesoporous material SBA-15 as carrier, phosphoric acid SBA-15 catalyst, Zr-Ce-SBA-15 metal oxide catalysts, Zr-Ce-SBA-15 phosphoric acid catalyst were prepared successfully. Study on three kinds of catalyst respectively, volume space velocity of propylene gas is 1200 h-1, the reaction temperature (190~250 ℃) and reaction pressure (1.6~2.5 MPa) were investigated, through the experimental results show that: the best reaction pressure of phosphoric acid SBA-15 catalyst is 2.2 MPa, propylene conversion per pass is about 2.36%, selectivity is 99.35%, Zr-Ce-SBA-15 metal oxide catalysts is also have a certain activity, the optimal reaction temperature is 235~250 C, the pressure is 1.8~2.2 MPa, the converting rate of propylene is up to 1.22%, isopropyl alcohol selectivity is above 99.1%; the optimum reaction temperature of Zr-Ce-SBA-15 phosphoric acid catalyst is 220~235 ℃, the pressure is 2.2 MPa, propylene conversion per pass is about 2.68%, selectivity is 98.3%.
