The main component of turbodrill is turbine. The turbine is made up of turbine stator and rotor. Its function is transforming the liquid energy into mechanical energy on the principal axis. The shape of the turbine stator and rotor restricts flow state of the drilling fluid in the turbine and directly influence the performance of the turbodrill. The surface of turbine blades is complex free surface, geometric parameters of the surface from various research units and production enterprise are strictly confidentiall. How to quickly master the high performance blade applied oilfield and to improve the design, is a problem to be solved at present stage. Reverse engineering is based on the existing products, rapidly digesting and absorbing adva-nced technology. Therefore, the application of reverse engineering technology to design the turbodrill turbine blades can improve the hydraulic performance and has important significance.This paper make turbodrill blade applied in fields, reverse design of turbine stator and rotor can be realized with the help of three coordinates measuring machine and the related sofoftware. The main content of research including:(1)We analyzed the features of turbodrill blade, selected contact measurement, planned measurement path, measured the blaed surface by using three coordinate measuring machine, obtained eight point cloud data of section line. We used the method of Imageware which is the software of reverse engineering, dealed with the point cloud by point cloud filtering, point cloud alignment and point cloud segmentation.(2) We studied the mathematical model of free curve and surface, fitted the surface with modeling of curve fitting method and modeling of point cloud fitting directly method, made the six surface join together into a complete three-dimensional model of turbodrill rotor blade. Using software of UG to solidify three-dimensional model, finally got a complete turbodrill rotor solid model; checked fairing of the solid model and established quantitative index of the error evaluation.(3) The mathematical model of fluid flow in the turbodrill was studied. We bulid cycle model of catchment in turbodrill stator and rotor by using software of UG. Mesh generation, boundary conditions setting and flow field simulation to the model were done by software of CFD. We got the flow distributions of pressure and velocity in turbodrill stator and rotor on constant flow of21L/s, analyzed and compared the pressure changes on the rotor blade, conducted the turbodrill experiment, hydraulic parameters from experiment compared with simulation, verified the accuracy of the reverse engineering and simulation.
