Power consumption has become the main part of the modern manufacturing industry of energy consumption. How to save energy has become the indispensable part of the whole production process. In the turbine blade machining, metal cutting is a main machining method, its high efficiency and high precision are those other processing methods can not match. However, in the process of cutting,it consumed a large amount of electric power, including efficient work cut materials in metal cutting machine tools, and energy consumption of auxiliary equipment such as motor, auxiliary equipment, electrical components are considered as ineffective consumption. This paper mainly used experimental analysis and theoretical analysis, analyses the main factors which affecting energy consumption in cutting process. Discussed the energy consumption related to different cutting parameters when the removal rates are in the same value; compared the energy consumption per unit volume related to different cutting rate, find out the most valuable element which affect the energy consumption and tried to find the relative low consumption of some common metal removal rate. It provides the reasonable way to choose the cutting parameters which saves more energy, and established theoretical basis for the choice of cutting parameters will be use in the manufacturing of turbine blade in the future.
