The laser cutting machine has been widely used in the automotive industry, aerospace manufacturing field and so on, which has broad market prospects. With the increasing demand on precision and speed of laser cutting machine, it requires that the design of the machine structure is reasonable and the dynamic and static performance is excellent. The optimization design for the structure of the laser cutting machine is studied in this paper, the main research is as follow:1) According to the market research and product positioning, the technical index of laser cutting machine is determined. Based on the analysis of the machine structure characteristics, the structure with up-side-down beam is selected as the structure of the laser cutting machine. The overall transmission scheme is proposed, and the suitable motor type is selected. The structure design and three-dimensional digital model of laser machine is established according to the analysis of working principle and technical characteristics.2) Based on Ansys Workbench, static and modal analysis of the whole machine is conducted. And the deformation of all directions, equivalent stress and each natural frequency and mode of vibration is acquired. According to the analysis result, the weak link of the machine is obtained, and the optimal component is determined. The improved scheme of longitudinal beam is put forward and analyzed. Topology optimization for the sliding plate is conducted based on simulation results, to make the structure more reasonable, and improve the static and dynamic characteristics.3)With topology optimization for beam structure, the improved scheme of beam structure is proposed. The optimization model of beam structure is established, selecting suitable parameters. Based on the BP neural network and genetic algorithm, combined with the fuzzy method, multi-objective optimization method is used. Using the strong nonlinear mapping function of BP artificial neural network The network training samples by the orthogonal test are determined to describe and deal with the relationship between design variables and the outputs of beam structure, and by means of the fuzzy method, the target function of multi-objective optimization model is acquired, with the global optimization ability of genetic algorithm, beam structure of laser cutting machine is optimized and the quality and rigidity of the beam is improved.4)The finite element analysis of the optimized whole machine is conducted. The simulation results show that the static characteristics and dynamic characteristics of machine has been obviously improved. Finally, with the research of design and optimization of the laser cutting machine, the prototype is manufactured, assembled and debugged. The workpiece processed by the laser machine meets the design requirements, which verifies the research results of this paper.
