Energy conservation and emission reduction is an important technological development direction of manufacturing industry in China. Machine tool is an important part of the manufacturing sector, the total energy consumption of the massively and widely distributed machine tools in China is huge and the utilization rate of effective energy is low. Reducing the energy consumption of machine tools is one of China’s manufacturing strategy to achieve energy conservation and emission reduction. Assessment and analysis of the energy consumption process of machine tool is the basis to reduce the energy consumption of machine tool. Existing researchs to assess and analyze energy consumption of machine tool mainly focused on the basic energy consumption, process energy consumption and structural energy consumption, lack of research for the energy consumption of dynamic machining process of machine tool. Therefore, considering the multi energy sources of machine tool, the dynamically changed machining task as well as its processing parameters, this paper proposed a modelling and simulation method of energy consumption for the dynamic machining process of machine tool. The main work is as follows:Analyze the dynamic nature of energy consumption of CNC machine tool. Based on the analysis of the constitution of multi energy source of numerical control machine tools, analyze the dynamic nature of energy consumption for the machining process of CNC machine tool, including: analysis of the energy consumption influenced by the dynamically changed processing tasks, analysis of the energy consumption influenced by the dynamically changed operating states of CNC machine tool as well as its multi energy sources, analysis of the energy consumption of multi energy sources influenced by the variational processing parameters.On this basis, model the energy consumption of the dynamic machining process of machine tool by combining hierarchical object-oriented Petri nets(HOONet) with the energy consumption model of components. Among them, by building the geometric construction of HOONet to model the energy consumption influenced by the dynamically changed operating states of CNC machine tool as well as its multi energy sources; by defining the colored token and its associated attributes to model the energy consumption influenced by the dynamically changed processing tasks and processing parameters; by modeling the energy consumption of components to model the energy consumption of multi energy sources influenced by the variational processing parameters and provide the corresponding energy consumption data for HOONet.On the basis of the above study, adopt MATLAB / Stateflow language to simulate the above model. Through simulating the dynamic machining process of three workpiece on CNC machine tools, comprehensively analyze the energy consumption information of the dynamic machining process of CNC machine tool from the perspective of CNC machine tools and machining tasks, and validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed method.
