While the manufacturing industry brings the great development to the human society, it also brings some serious problems of resource and environment. Green manufacturing has become an inevitable development direction of the manufacturing industry, which was included in the "China made 2025" program. As the basic machine of mechanical products, the machine tool makes up about 1/3 of total energy consumption of manufacturing industry. As a manufacturing method which considers the environmental impact and resource utilization efficiency, green manufacturing can be carried out from two aspects of research work,which are to reduce the cost and environmental impact and to provide data support for the further development of it. In order to achieve the objectives above, this paper studied the prediction technology of machine tool energy consumption and carbon emission based on virtual manufacturing and develops a predict system to provide support to technical support for reducing the cost of machine tools. At the same time, this paper studied the energy consumption and carbon emission testing technology of the machine tool, and developed the detection system. The details are as follows:Firstly, on the basis of the analysis of demand for energy consumption and carbon emission prediction, the two prediction indexes of machine energy consumption and carbon emission were selected, and the theoretical modeling was carried out respectively. Then this paper analysised the power characteristics of machine tools, and established the machine based power, no-load power and material removal of power model through a combination of theoretical and experimental way, and predicted the carbon emissions in processing using ERWC model.Then the machine movement simulation module was developed, which realized the establishment of the virtual machine tool model, the pretreatment and analysis of the numerical control code, and the simulation of the interpolation movement. Then the method to get the motion state and processing parameters of machine through the movement simulation was studied, and the prediction system of energy consumption and carbon emissions was realized, which combined with the energy consumption and carbon emission model establishrd.Finally, the online detection system of the actual energy consumption in processing was developed. On the basis of analyzing the requirement of the system, the total energy consumption of the machine tool and other 5 indexs was selected. Then this paper obtained the power data of the machine tool from PLC in real time, and identified the machine movement state,and realized the real-time detection of the energy consumption in processing. At last, taken TK6920 boring and milling machine as the example, the prediction system and detection system was tested to verify the accuracy of the system developed.
