This paper studied two typical outbursts seam B group and C group in Pingdingshan No.8 Mine by the theory and method of gas geology. Based on the clarified characteristics of tectonic evolution, structural stress field evolution, geological structure distribution of the mining area and filed in Pingdingshan mining area, the paper studied the main geological control factors of the gas occurrence and geological control features of the coal and gas outbursts, and stated the gas geological control characteristics of the filed, which had been used to the prediction of the gas content, gas emission and coal and gas outbursts danger zone.Firstly,the field was divided into two geological units bounded to Jiaozan syncline,after a comprehensive analysis of the gas occurrence control of geological structure,coal seam thickness, surrounding rock nature, seam depth and the thickness of overlying bedrock in B15, C9-10 seam, the paper drawn a conclusion that the thickness of overlying bedrock and seam depth were the main control factors forⅠ,Ⅱgeological units, and established a mathematical model to predict the gas content and the gas emission.Secondly, combined with the outbursts card, this paper analyzed the coal and gas outbursts control factors, taking geological structure, tectonic coal distribution, coal seam dip angle, etc, and then proposed the conclusion that geological structure controls the distribution of tectonic coal and the belt distribution of coal and gas outbursts in various geological units,and divided into three serious outbursts dangerous belt.At last,based on the relevant information of gas content, gas pressure and coal and gas outbursts, the paper divided the gas outburst danger zone.Below the area of 385 m deep of Ⅰgeological unit and 404 m deep of Ⅱgeological unit was divided into the gas outburst danger zone in B15 coal seam; below the area of 391 m deep of Ⅰgeological unit and 417 m deep of Ⅱgeological unit was divided into the gas outburst danger zone in C9-10 seam.In this paper, gas geological control characteristics of typical outbursts coal seam was researched in detail, which provided technology and theory guidance for further coal mining and gas prevention in Pingdingshan NO.8 Mine.
