With the exploitation of the oil, the problem of the dwindling of the oil reserves has become outstanding in recent years. A series of oil-saving projects have been put forward, in order to achieve the target of energy conservation and cost reduction. In drilling industry, a lot of fuel oil as the only production and living energy is consumed by the drilling crews who work outdoors all the round year. The cost of the fuel oil is the prime cost of the drilling company and this phenomenon has attracted the attention of the drilling company leaders. In this paper, combining the development direction of "digital oil field", "the real-time monitoring system of well site equipment diesel consumption" is developed according to the characteristics and requirements of the well site. In the field of achieving the target of energy conservation, promoting the management level and reducing the cost for the drilling crews, the paper has the important engineering application value. In this paper, main work is as follows:First of all, according to the demand of diesel consumption in the well site, the system scheme is put forward based on the characteristics of the distributed locate of the acquisition signal, the high frequency of the well site moving and the poor stability of the power supply. The system scheme is collecting data by intelligent instruments, using the 485 bus and the Modbus protocol for data transmission and monitoring the data on the industrial computer.Second, to ensure the system operate accurate, stable and reliable, the paper has studied the key technologies involved in "the real-time monitoring system of well site equipment diesel consumption". The paper put forward a multithreaded solution of the real-time monitoring system of the diesel consumption. The functions of data acquisition, the data processing and the data and graphics display are assigned to different threads, improving the response speed, promoting the reliability and meeting the real-time requirements of the system. The paper proposes a processing scheme of the well site diesel consumption data, which contains the calculation of oil consumption, the abnormal data processing, the data saving real-time and regularly and the data recovery at system start, which solving the problem brought by the change of sensors and power off.Based on studies of the key technologies above, "the real-time monitoring system of well site equipment diesel consumption" is developed. Field application shows that the system is stable and reliable in operation and accurate in measurement, being able to strengthen the management of fuel use, avoid the loss of the fuel oil and save cost.
