Desertification is one of the top ten environmental problems to humanity, and it occurs in all arid areas of the world except Antarctica, there are numerous people suffering from the threat of desertification and global desertification caused the direct economic losses. To solve the problem of desertification, we need to promote the cooperation between the countries concerned in the whole world. All the countries in the world need to take responsibility for prevention and treatment of common international global desertification. China is one of the most affected ones who suffer problems of desertification, desertification has obstructed the development of ecological civilization in China, and also prevent china to building a moderately prosperous society and realizing the great rejuvenation of the important Chinese dream. Participating in international cooperation to combat desertification is essential for our country to achieve sustainable development. To join international desertification cooperation, China can not only make great achievements, slow the speed of desertification worsening, but also can China gain the introduction of advanced technology and management experience. In addition, China will improve the country’s ecological environment; and at the same time, China can also help other countries to be actively participated in related international activities to combat desertification, contribute to combat the world’s desertification.This essay studied China’s participation in international cooperation to Combat Desertification, using method of comprehensive analysis, comparative analysis, systems analysis and case analysis, showing of participation and achievements that China has made in the combat against desertification in international cooperation. Our study found that there are two main problems during international cooperation:external problems and internal problems. External problems included common problems that exist in worldwide cooperation to Combat Desertification and external issues we faced from the outside. Internal problems are our own limitations. Finally, To help China to improve international cooperation desertification, we made four detailed recommendations:to build cross-border institutional arrangements; to promote the regional desertification cooperation to promote cooperation in the world; to make innovation in cooperation; to strengthen our own capacity of combating desertification.
