This project is synthesized self-control brominated butyl rubber(BIIR) by using a solution method, adding different types and mass fraction of antioxidant by different ways,and characterizing it by a variety of means.We investigate the effects of antioxidants on BIIR bromine content and microstructure by 1H-NMR,and compare with foreign rubbers;We test BIIR Mooney viscosity by mooney viscometer;We test the oxidation induction time and the thermal decomposition temperature by DSC and TG;We analyzed vulcanization performance with Multi-Function Rubber Rheometer;We test the ability of the anti-aging through artificial accelerated aging test.As we all know, the amount of the antioxidant can affect bromine content of BIIR within a certain range, and liquid antioxidants is better than solid antioxidants in protect the structure of bromine. As oxidation induction time can be more directly reflect the antioxidant capacity of antioxidants, TG test can know the stability of antioxidant and the effects on the stability of BIIR,we determine the addition amount of 0.18% of the 1520 by Solution method or the addition amount of 0.16% of the FT-NOX 3036 by dry rubber kneading method. Artificial accelerated aging test analyzes BIIR raw rubber aging from the apparent color,the change of BIIR’s color may reflect a certain extent on the degree of debromination and structural rearrangements.By analyzing TG data of BIIR vulcanizates,we can see that bromine participate vulcanization, it also improve cross-linking activity, FT-NOX 3036 can better improve the stability of vulcanized rubber.By artificial accelerated thermal aging and UV aging test,we can see that the BIIR’s molecular chain can be destroyed and degraded after aging, BIIR’s hardness and 300% modulus increases,while the tensile strength and elongation at break decreased. We can conclude that thermal aging have a great destructive to BIIR then UV aging.The performance of FT-NOX 3036’s anti-aging ability is the best, no matter in thermal oxidative aging or in UV aging.
