Belt conveyors are key equipment in the field of coal transportation,and conveyor belts are the core components of belt conveyors.In recent years,with the continuous increase of coal transportation,belt breakage accidents caused by conveyor belts due to wear,heavy load impact and other factors have occurred frequently.In order to reconnect the broken conveyor belt joint,it takes more than one day to vulcanize the joint,which not only makes the joint strength different from the original belt,reduces the safety factor of the belt conveyor,but also seriously affects economic benefits of coal mining enterprises.Therefore,studying the influencing factors of the vulcanization strength of conveyor belt joints and the laws of physical characteristics of rubber during vulcanization are of great significance to shorten the vulcanization time and improve the strength of conveyor belt joints.This article uses a combination of theory,experiment,and simulation,and takes conveyor belt joints as the research object.The vulcanization characteristics of tape joints are described from different subjects.The purpose is to provide some theoretical guidance for joint vulcanization process and tape curing conditions.The article mainly starts from the following aspects:Firstly,based on the vulcanization process of the rubber used in the vulcanization of the conveyor belt joint,the mathematical model of heat conduction during vulcanization is established.In order to have an accurate prediction of the vulcanization process of the joint,the vulcanization time,vulcanization temperature,and vulcanization pressure were respectively coupled,and a mathematical model of the vulcanization degree of the rubber was established.Based on the model,a new model was established for predicting the amount of abrasion of a tape under vulcanization time,pressure and temperature.Finally,based on the relevant theories of material mechanics,a force model for conveyor belt joints was established,which can predict the force magnitude of the joints.A simplified model of the conveyor belt was established based on actual parameters,and the finite element analysis of the vulcanization process of the joint was imported into ANSYS FLUENT software.The temperature,pressure,velocity,and shear stress distributions of the molten rubber at various sections were obtained.It can be found from the simulated cloud diagram that during the vulcanization process,the areas where the temperature and pressure are uneven are concentrated on the edge of the tape,and the higher the temperature and pressure,the more uneven the phenomenon.With the increase of temperature and pressure,the flow rate of the rubber compound accelerates significantly.Shear stress decreases with increasing temperature and increases with increasing pressure.The above simulation analysis effectively solves the problem of related flow characteristics that cannot be measured with instruments.The optimal vulcanization conditions of a new type of cover rubber and core rubber formula for conveyor belt joints were studied experimentally.The vulcanization characteristics Parameters and mechanical characteristics parameters of two formula rubbers at different vulcanization time,vulcanization temperature,and vulcanization pressure were obtained,and using scanning electron microscope to obtain the surface wear morphology of the cover rubber,the wear resistance of the cover rubber was verified from the other side.Finally,based on the experimental data,the effects of the three vulcanization factors on the properties of the rubber compound are summarized.
