By analyzing the current forging industry, overview some defects related to problems on the current forging production, especially these problems easily caused by heat treatment; and to the principles of interpretation of the theory developed heat treatment process, pointing out that should pay attention to the issue during the heat treatment; also some factors of affecting the temperature field and microstructure evolution were summarized and analyzed, to facilitate the subsequent simulation.In combination with the actual production, applying ANSYS Workbench software simulated the large section structural steel forgings of SD2 MW fan shaft and a small gear shaft forgings 4340 v of quenching temperature field by the way of water-air alternately, and refer to the relevant information to improve the process to determine the circulation cooling system to achieve the desired microstructure and properties. Through analysis, the use of water-air alternating hardening, the overall performance is better than oil-cooled, and the economy, environmental protection,can also ensure that the organization and performance, but also to avoid the cost of factory pay random test.Meanwhile, the paper also simulated the commonly used plastic mold steel P20 and 718 large modules of quenching temperature field by the way of water-air alternately, and established the basic principles formulated by the cooling system,and pointed out the pre-cooling modules can reduce total calories and reduce cracking risk. In addition, the module surface from tempering so that the surface tissue plasticity and toughness, and enhance the crack resistance, while the low temperature danger zone can be significantly reduced through simulation to predict the risk of quench cracking. By applying ANSYS Workbench software quenching temperature field simulation technology, we can solve the production process of forging how cooling problems for the development of the actual production of the heat treatment process has some practical value.
