| Careless preservation resulted in printing paper-material mildewed easily. Mildew can destroy the original appearance, reduced the mechanical strength, and changed physical character of printing paper-material. Herein, mildewy paper money and painting were identified by morphologic and molecular biological technologies. The experimental results were compared with literature reports printed material on the types of mold. The results showed that dominant moulds from mildew printing paper-material included Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus fumigates, Aspergillus restrictus, and Aspergillus glaucus in Aspergillus, other common types of moulds were Penicillium Trichoderma and Rhizopu, such as Penicillium purpurogenum, Trichoderma viride Pars ex Fr, Rhi zopus oryzae, Rhizopus nigricans. In addition, the books from 1950 s to 1980 s were investigated in the special library of Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication. It can be found that the mildewy books are significant seriously and need to be protected urgently. Depending on the types of moulds in the mildewy printing paper-material, antimicrobial agent of clove oil was an effective mean obviously to inhibit the growth of Aspergillus, Penicillium, Trichoderma, and Rhizopu. Besides, chitosan modified by nano-TiO2 to Aspergillus niger, ultraviolet ray and fumigation with formaldehyde to Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus glaucus, Aspergillus restrictus, and Rhilpus echinatus have ideal inhibitory effect on their growth. From a security perspective, ultraviolet ray and formaldehyde have damaged to the printed paper-materials. However, plant essential oil and chitosan modified by nano material possess a broad application prospect in anti-mildew technique for printing paper- material. |
