The paper-process reconstituted tobacco which is an impotant raw material of the production of cigarette products, not only improves the physical properties and chemical compositions of the cigarette, and improves the safety of smoking cigarette, but also takes full advantage of the tobacco resources and reduces the cost of cigarette. Currently, there is no good smoking taste in the paper-making reconstituted tobacco, in this case, the added content and using effects are seriously limited in the cigarette products. Pectin in tobacco is the main reason that causes no good smoking taste in the paper-making reconstituted tobacco. In order to improve the inner quality and value in use of the paper-making reconstituted tobacco, the papper researches the degradation technique of pectin in the paper-making reconstituted tobacco, and the details are as follows:1. The determination method of tobacco pectin in YC/T 346 was improved in order to simplify the analytical procedure. The tobacco sample was directly extracted with acid alcohol solution instead of with alcoholic solution and with acid solution. The results showed that:1) This method not only achieved the effect of removing carbohydrate and acidification, but also reduced one time reflux, one time filtration and three times washings; 2) The result of this method had a great agreement with the result of YC/T 346, and the method simplified the analytical procedure and was suitable to determine pectin in batch tobacco samples.2. In order to choose the optimal operation points of degrading pectin of reconstituted tobacco, the change rule of pectin content in the production process of reconstituted tobacco was studied in the paper. The results showed that:1) In the production process of reconstituted tobacco, the pectin content in the mixed extraction solids, high consistency pulp and base sheet of reconstituted tobacco was highest(19.34%,19.75% and 17.97% respectively); 2) According to the study of the change of pectin content in the production process of reconstituted tobacco, the optimal degradation operation points was chosen at the extraction process and the beating process.3. In order to explore the degradation of pectin using biological enzyme in the extraction process of tobacco material, the paper used pectinase solution to extract the tobacco material, and optimized the extraction conditions. The results showed that:1) With the increase of enzyme concentration, the total sugar, reducing sugar and galacturonic acid in the extract increased gradually, and the pectin content in tobacco residue reduced gradually; 2) The incense smoke concentrations increased, irritation declined obviously, and sensory quality improved significantly when the concentration of pectinase solution was 0.5%, and the pectin in tobacco degraded from 18.61% to 9.52%.4. In order to explore the degradation of pectin using chemical approach in the extraction process of tobacco material, the paper used diammonium phosphate solution to extract the tobacco material, and optimized the extraction conditions. The results showed that:1) With the increase of the diammonium phosphate concentration, the pectin content in tobacco residue gradually reduced; 2) The extraction was concentrated and applied to prepare the reconstituted tobacco, which had undergone great changes in sensory quality, such as smoke cloudy, dust tasted heavier and irritation increased.5. In order to explore the degradation of pectin using biological enzyme in the pulping process of tobacco material, the paper used pectinase solution to treat tobacco pulp after the high concentration beating process of tobacco material, then the pulp was further refined to produce the paper base sheet. The results showed that:1) The pectin content in the paper base sheet of tobacco stem and tobacco leaf decreased respectively from 19.59%,18.92% to 4.88%,3.58%, the smoke of the paper base sheet of tobacco stem and leaf treated by enzyme became better fluffy, and had a good flavor; 2) The smoke of the paper base sheet of the mixed stem and leaves gave a less irritant and a good flavor when the concentration of pectinase solution was 1.0%, and the pectin content in tobacco pulp decreased from 18.78% to 8.48%.
