| This paper focus on the effect of surface sizing agent of styrene acrylic combined with oxidized starch on physical properties, printing and electrical performance of base paper, and adjust the mixing ratio of surface sizing agent and starch to ultimately to find the suitable agents and mixing ratios for laser printing, so that the lasor printing papers have low-cost, more improvement in printing performance.The semi-continuous synthesis of SAE latex was successfully synthesized and fully characterized with Fourier Transform Infrared (FT-IR) spectrometer, laser particle analyzer and scanning electron microscope. The results showed that under the condition of emulsifier dosage at 3%, initiator concentration at 0.5%, and the reaction temperature at 800C, the monomer conversion can reach more than 80%,under this condition, the emulsion of sizing performance is better. Use membrane to spread the synthetic emulsion of surface sizing agent SAE into film, the performance of SAE film characterized by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectrometer indicted that all monomers were involved in the polymerization reation, which perform random polomer structure, the sized paper was scanned by scanning electron microscopy showed that synthetic SAE can form dense film in base paper, which can improve the physical properties.With the increase of the proportion of SAE, the whiteness, smoothness, stiffness and tensile strength was significantly increased compared to the base paper, the air permeability and opacity had decline trend.The mixture surface sizing agent SAE and oxidized starch could make the base paper whiteness increase the maximum amplitude about 0.64%, smoothness can improve 61.5%, the stiffness and tensile strength had superior performance, they could be increased by 37.3% and 15.9% compared to base paper, SAE and oxidized starch can reduce air permeability and opacity by 4.58% and 0.26% respectively in comparison with the base paper.When the ratio of SAE and starch is 1:10, the color density value of CMYK reached their maximum, which C increased obviously, SAE surface sizing agent and starch made the CMYK four-color density increase by 8.32%,4.8%,5.1%,2.4% repectively. The effect of mixture of SAE and starch on the gray scale of 80% was relatively obvious, in 80% of the gray scale; the density of base paper could improve by 0.8%,1.7%,9.2%, 10.1%,8.4% and 7.5%. the mixed surface sizing could significantly improve dot roundness of base paper, when the ratio of SAE and starch was 2:10, the dot roundness could improve to its maximum of 0.75% compared to the base, with the increase of SAE dosage, the dot roundness curve grow smoothly.when the ratio of SAE and starch is 1:10, the color difference of sized paper was at its minimum of 0.9.The mixed surface sizing agent of SAE and starch could significantly improve electrical properties of base paper. |
