Nowadays the CNC machine towards the direction of development of the high speed, super precision, multi-functionalization, high reliability and so on. Because of the synthetic action of the internal heat source and the environment temperature, the thermal transmits between the components and parts of the CNC by the way of the thermal conductivity and the thermal convection during the machining process, which makes inhomogeneous temperayure field in the componenta and parts of the CNC, and it leads to the different degrees of the thermal deformation of the components and parts of the CNC. so the research and analysis on the thermal characteristics of the spindle assembly of the CNC is particularly important.In this text it takes the spindle system of a kind of CNC machine center as the object of study, making research and analysis on the thermal characteristic for the spindle assembly of CNC machine tool.(1) The research status and the development situation of analysis on the thermal characteristic for spindle assembly of CNC are obtained from the literature home and abroad. The main content and the practical significance are expounded, the thought and the research method are confirmed.(2) The mathematic model of the thermal characteristic analysis of machine tool spindle system is established. Combination with the object in this text, determining the analysis parameter and using ANSYS establish the finite element model of the spindle assembly of machine tool, and writing the APDL for the temperature field analysis and the thermal stress analysis of the spindle assembly of machine tool, which simplify the steps of the thermal analysis of the spindle assembly, shortening the time for the finite element calculation.(3) According to the theoretical analysis, the geometrical parameters and the analysis parameter are confirmed. The element model of lubricant film is established by the software GAMBIT, and the heat transfer calculation was perfomed on model by the software FLUENT. The temperature field distribution of lubricant film is solved. Study on temperature field distribution of lubricant film under different rotational speed, and obtained some useful conclusions.(4) A software on the spindle analysis of the CNC machine is developed by the software Powerbuilder 9.0, and the parameterization of the three-dimensional models and the analysis parameter of the spindle system of the CNC machine is realized. Connecting with the database SQL Server 2000 is realized, and the process of the analysis and the computation are simplified.The research of this paper not only has directive meaning and engineering applied value in the facets of enhancing the design level and analysis efficiency of the CNC tool spindle, but also offers reference to the CNC machine tool design and analysis.
