The output metering technology, which is commonly used in our country, is that several wells output in a range was transported to a metering station or test station nearby, and then it was transported to the oil processing or storage station far away. This kind of output metering method was neither economical nor appropriate for the development of oil-company.. So it is need to output metering technology, which meets the requirements of lower investment projects and continues real-time automated and no ground station. The output metering technology based on dynamometer card was developed to solve the problem of single well output metering. This method has prodigious advantages prior to other methods, such as small investment, without metering station, continuous measurement and so on. This paper completed some tasks in view of this method.This paper established a rod pumping system vibration model. Getting the corresponding pump dynamometer card and the damping by solve the model. Establish a continuous curve curvature approximation model. Find out the maximum curvature of the curve based on the geometric characteristics of the pump dynamometer card. Then get the effective stroke of the plunger.Based on the above mentioned working, this paper makes a quantitative analysis of oil well production. Using the data obtained from the oilfield, calculating the amount of leakage, output volume and the discharge pressure of the pump. Finally get the liquid production of the oil well.Develop the oil output metering software using dynamometer card on Windows platform. The software is applied to analyze seventeen sets of data from two wells in LiaoHe oilfield. The average relative error between the calculated and measured yield is 6%. The proposed software is suitable for oil production measurement.
