Lacquer art furniture is an important component of traditional Chinese furniture t hat has appeared in the rudimentary period of Chinese furniture. The lacquer of lacque r art furniture is the white milky liquid collected from the natural coating of lacquer tr ees and a natural "water" polymer composite coating taken from green plants. The lac quer, after enzyme catalysis, could be assimilated into membranes under normal temp erature with characteristics such as resistance to corrosion, abrasion, acid, solvent, hea t and water, insulation and rich luster. It is so widely used that it could not only decora tes artifacts such as wood, bamboo, leather, ceramics, metals, jade, glasses and cloths but also decorate various artifacts, furniture, indoor decorations, jewelry, industrial pr oducts, etc.. "Lacquer art" is a term modern people distill from words such as "lacquer ing" and "lacquerware", which not only means traditional exquisite arts and crafts but also refers to the artistic attainments created for media materials through lacquer. So it covers both the technical civilization and the spiritual civilization. "Lacquerware" ge nerally refers to some wooden, ceramic and metal objects painted with transparent or opaque lacquer. Therefore, lacquer art furniture is also called as lacquer work furnitur e or lacquer wood furniture. Lacquer art furniture is one of the most important express ion vectors in the history of lacquer art and artifacts that perfectly combine the practic ability, culture, art and ecosystem. However, lacquer art furniture is incompatible with the modern lifestyle in the process of social development. Lack of practicability, Fuji an lacquer art furniture, as one of the lacquer art furniture schools in China, is also fac ed with many problems and challenges.This paper analyzed the current situations and development trend of lacquer art at home and abroad and introduced the development history of Chinese lacquer art furniture. It summarized the origin, development, prosp erity and declining of lacquer art furniture so as to provide a whole understanding and knowledge of the development of lacquer art furniture.The same time, this paper also discussed the origin of traditional Fujian lacquer art. A nd by summarizing the influence of such regional factors such as the natural, historica 1 and cultural factors inFujian on the development of lacquer art, it analyzed the reaso ns why Fujian lacquer art enjoyed a good reputation at home and abroad and develope d into an important town of lacquer art in contemporary China. In particular, lacquer works such as Fuzhou bodiless lacquerware and Xiamen lacquer threat sculpture was of vital value and significance to the society. Through comparing and referring to the development trend of contemporary lacquer art in Japan and South Korea, it discussed the lifestyles and aesthetic demands of contemporary China. Influenced by western c ulture, contemporary people tend to develop toward fashionable, diversified and artisti c directions in pursuing modern life. With the unique traditional Chinese artistic featur es and ethnic emotions, lacquer art furniture caters to the emotional demands of peopl e in their diversified life.It summarized that under the background of constructing a cu ltural superpower, many difficulties should be overcome so that lacquer art furniture c ould give play to its original cluster. It put forwards that the revitalization of lacquer a rt furniture should be combined with local artistic features and the artistic concept of c reative lacquer art furniture as well as the digging of cultural values and artistic values , which set the direction toward which lacquer art furniture could be integrated into da ily life. Finally, the practice case of furniture design enriched the content of this study and hence, it was of guiding significance to the study and practices.
