In order to achieve the anti-bacterial property of cotton fabric, a solution which was mixed by multi-amidine compound (RSD) and silver nitrate was used to deal with the cotton fabric. The steam method in light of in-situ mechanism was selected to obtain the nano-silver antibacterial cotton fabric. The influencing factors were discussed, then dyeing properties, anti-bacterial properties, dyeing properties a wearability were researched. The result indicated that the optimized technics were:dipping 40min than steaming30min.The amount of reducing agent is 2g/L, the amount of AgNO3 is 0.34g/L. The antibacterial efficiency of the treated fabric depends on the number of the Nano-silver deposited. The higher the number is, the more antibacterial efficiency the fabric obtained. The silver-treated cotton fabric showed 99.69% bacterial reduction of Escherichia coli and 99.79% bacterial reduction of Staphylococcus aureus while the silver content on cotton was about 137mg/kg. The antimicrobial activity of the silver-treated cotton fabric was maintained at over 99% reduction level even after being exposed to 20 consecutive home laundering conditions。So the steam method in light of in-situ mechanism to obtain the nano-silver antibacterial cotton fabric can get high antibacterial efficiency and washing fastness. The finished fabric still have good dyeing ability and for many kinds of activity of the dyeing.Compared with non-finished,the color light of the finished fabtic changed little. The wearability also has little change.
