Because of the breathable and comfortable,cotton fabric is popular with the public.However,according to the requirements of modern textile,cotton fabric needs anti-wrinkle finishing to improve its easy to wrinkle,shrink rate,poor elasticity and other related properties.The traditional anti-wrinkle finishing agent is mostly N-methylol amide,which has the problem of formaldehyde release.In recent years,a wide range of research is on the acid finishing agent.Under the acidic conditions,it also has a serious damage to the fabric strength and so on.Using the alkaline wet steam is beneficial to the full swelling of the fabric.It is not only conducive to the diffusion of the crosslinking agent in the fiber,but also improves the accessibility between the agent and fiber.Moreover,the damage of the fabric is small under the steam condition of low temperature.At present,the study of the performance of alkaline crosslinking agent has failed to meet requirements of application,so the development of a series of novel alkaline crosslinking agent is indispensable.In addition,adding some auxiliary agents can improve the performance of cotton fabric.Silicone resin as auxiliary additives of crosslinking agent can improve the feel and flexibility,can also improve the crease resistance of cotton fabric at the same time.In this paper,the alkaline crosslinking agents about 2,4-two chloroacetamide benzene sulfonic acid(CAC-DABS)and 2,4-two acrylamido benzene sulfonic acid(AC-DABS)were synthesized.The structure of target products was characterized by HPLC and ~1H-NMR.The anti-wrinkle performance of the fabric finished with steaming process was compared with that of traditional baking process,and the influence of steaming conditions.Optimization of steam technology showed that tearing strength retention(TS_R)of the cotton fabric treated by CAC-DABS or AC-DABS can remain above 80%.The wrinkle recovery angle(WRA)of cotton fabric treated by CAC-DABS reached more than 210°,and the anti-crease performance of AC-DABS finished cotton was much better than CAC-DABS finished,with the WRA closed to230°.Secondly,a new type of alkaline anti-wrinkle agent 4'-[(2-hydroxyethyl)sulfonyl]acryl anilide sulfate(ester)(AC-PBE)was synthesized by the reaction of acryloyl chloride with4-(ethylsulfurate sulfonyl)aniline.The structure of target product was characterized by HPLC,~1HNMR and ATR-FTIR.The steaming process was optimized and the results indicated that the TSR of AC-PBE finishing cotton fabric remainde above 80%.At the same time,its WRA was over230°and DP level reached more than 3.0.And the finishing had little effect on the whiteness of fabric.Further attempts were made to increase the reaction degree of crosslinking with the addition of alcohols in AC-PBE finishing.The experiment found that adding a certain amount of glycerol could make the fabric recovery angle continues to increase 5°,and the fabric strength and whiteness had no effect.In addition,the molecular structure of AC-PBE has two active groups which have quite different reaction activities.We considered to attempt the step by step process to improve the reaction degree of AC-PBE on the fiber.First,the cotton fabric was dipped under low temperature,and the reaction conditions of AC-PBE grafted cotton fabric were optimized by the study of the impregnation conditions.And the second step of cross-linking was in process.The study found that WRA of cotton fabric by step by step finishing can only reach 210°.HPLC analysis revealed that AC-PBE hydrolysis was serious in the process of impregnation which resulted the poor finishing effect.Finally,adding a certain amount of softening agent in the finishing liquid to improve the feel of the finishing fabric,but also improved the elastic recovery ability and strength of the finished fabric.
