This kind of high performance fiber reinforced composite materials are widely used in armored vehicles, military aircraft, armed helicopter ships, cash protection, etc., and also used as the chest plate back bulletproof shield, bulletproof helmets and individual protection. So, without reducing the bullet-proof performance, it is important to reduce the weight of bulletproof material, in order to make the composite material with high absorb energy density, lightweight and flexible. the high performance fiber with different types and structure have a different impact of anisotropy, when the bulletproof composites were affected by the bullet have different degree of structure effect. Combined with the energy absorption characteristics of bullet impact process of bulletproof composite materials and different combination of high performance fiber and structure, the ballistic of composite materials is the major subject of study for research and preparation of bulletproof composite materials need further improve. In addition, the bullet penetration process of high performance fiber reinforced composites and impact damage mechanism research of bulletproof composite materials structure design has the important theoretical value and practical significance. In the paper, high performance fiber as the reinforced material,bisphenol A epoxy vinyl ester 879 resin as matrix, then vacuum infusion molding process to prepare different structure, different combinations composite bulletproof composites, with the performance index as evaluation standard, combining the data and test to study the bulletproof performance of the composite materials, ballistic impact damage and the bulletproof mechanism.The major work could be summarized as the following several aspects: 1. Design andweave 3D fabric,the weaving process is optimized combined with different high performance fiber materials and three- dimensional structure of the quality of the 3D fabric. Then the mechanical properties of the reinforced fabric were studied. 2 The two-dimensional and three-dimensional fabric reinforced bisphenol A epoxy vinyl ester 879 composites were preparied with vacuum infusion molding process, And the molding quality and interfacial bonding issues of composites were studied.besides, the relationship of the amount of resin with the area of the composite material and the thickness of the composite was analyzed in detail. 3.The impact resistance of different types of composites were tested with ballistic impact device,the ballistic performance of different structure and combinatoin composite materials were studied. Besides the fracture of high performance fiber and its mechanism of ballistic absorption of high performance fiber were also explored.The research results show that: The breaking strength value of the two dimensional fabric preform order was:High strength polyethylene UD, carbon Plain woven, aramid Plain woven,glass plain woven; the breaking strength value of the three dimensional fabric order was: High strength polyethylene three-dimensional woven fabric,aramid three dimensional woven fabric,glass fiber three dimensional woven fabric. The experimental pressure parameter of vacuum infusion molding process was controlled by-0.08 Mpa. At the time resin curing time was about36 min to complete the material and resin impregnation well. Besides the high strength polyethylene UD with plasma treatment can improve the forming quality of high strength polyethylene UD laminated composite materials, and at the same time the density energy absorption of the composite materials improved about 12.85%. Besides through the test and analysis of the resin content of the two dimensional and three-dimensional reinforced composite materials.The resin content of the composite material, the thickness of the composite material,and the area of the composite material can be simulated by two regression equation. The types of high performance fibers and the structure of the preforms have different effects on the ballistic performance. The bulletproof performance:high strength polyethylene fiber is better than that of aramid fiber and aramid fiber is better than that of glass fiber; 3D Angle interlocking is better than that of three dimensional quasi orthogonal, and three dimensional quasi orthogonal is better than that of 3D orthogonal.And thick fabric to the mixing of bulletproof composite materials performance has different thickness effect and Angle effect, the ballistic impact performance ofcomposites increases with the increase of the thickness of the composite layer.And the ballistic impact performance from big to small of the layer angle was : 30°, 15°, 45°. In addition to different proportion of laminated composites,when the proportion of organic and inorganic fiber laminated is 1:2, the ballistic impact performance is best.Besides the energy absorption mechanism of the composites was divided into three stages: First is the shear failure of the playing surface of the composite materia: Second, the intermediate section, the shear failure is the main parts. and the tensile fracture damage is the auxiliary: Finally the tensile fracture failure of the back surface of the composites. |
