Color management technology of textile digital printing is trying to solve the consistency problem in process of color transfer among input device, display device and output device. In the production process of textile digital printing, color quality of textile digital printing products is determined by many factors such as fabric texture, ink, ink-control, accuracy of ICC Profiles, starching, after-treatment and mechanical equipment. The change of any factor will lead to color differences. According to practical color management problems, the following aspects are studied on the basis of domestic and foreign research. First, an experimental platform called Easy CMM with CIELAB color space and CIECAM02 color space was established. Different gamut algorithms were customized and evaluating effects of printings respectively using CIELAB and CIECAM02 as PCS could be undertaken and mapping effects of different algorithms were compared as well. Second, effects of different ink-control methods have been studied using both subjective evaluation method and objective evaluation method though comparing edit profile method and device link method to standard ICC profile and RIP method. Finally, effects of Colorcast multi-channel soft proofing was studied. Main conclusions are as follows.(1) After studying principles of digital printing color management and limitations of standard ICC color management intents and proposing to use CIECAM02 which is related to color appearance as PCS, Easy CMM experimental platform was established. It is indicated that for blue and purple, effects of CIECAM02 as PCS are better than those of CIELAB as PCS showing that CIECAM02 is more suitable for people’s visual habits. Easy CMM contains functions of different mapping algorithms and black point compensation and generating Adobe RGB images at the same time.(2) Studying different ink-control methods. According to requirements of textile digital enterprises and researches on ink-control methods, those methods were compared by subjective evaluation method and objective evaluation method respectively. It is shown that standard ICC method is well recommended because of its best evaluation even though the process of making ICC Profiles are time consuming. The effects of device link profile method are worst on the fabric with 200 ink –amount. Thus, device link method is not recommended. On fabric with 300 ink-amount, effects of RIP method of Hong Hua company are similar with those of editing profile method. However, on 200 ink-amount fabric, RIP method of Hong Hua is better than editing profile method.(3) The goal of soft proofing of textile digital printing is What you see is what you get. Errors could be corrected before printing in order to save cost for enterprises. As the effects of multi-channel soft proofing in Photoshop are not good.Colorcast module in Color Think Pro3.0 can make it in Photoshop. It is concluded that effects of Colorcast soft proofing which are accepted could be used in textile digital printing. Colorcast Profiles contain black point compensation compulsively. Therefore, it may mislead the real effects for RIP in textile digital color management, which does not widely supported black point compensation.
