With the development of machine manufacturing, it brings up an increasing demand for Mechanical Parts which has particular mechanical property and High surface quality. New demands are set for the machine manufacturing of mechanical parts. In such a case, the research on the mechanical process which based on the required level of performance of Machine Joint Surfaces assumed vital importance.This article is in support of national science and technology major special issue of the important parts of the head turning and milling machining center processing technology research (2011ZX04002-111). In this paper to present the particular mechanical property on the relation between microstructure and property with the existing research results, and provide the basis for the performance guarantee of machine joint surfaces. The main content as shown below:An experimental study on the structure and performance function of machine tools and machine joint surfaces, got the relation of joint surfaces with machine function by AHP model method. Then establish the system of microstructure Indicators and relations of performance function between the joint surfaces and surface, and got the microstructure Indicators of surface effect on performance function of joint surfaces.Based on the research of microstructure indicators of surface, building theoretical microstructure of surface models which rests on the influence of cutter installation errors, cutter wear, cutting vibration and cutter deformation and and simulations with face milling cutter. Influencing law of factor on microstructure indicators of surface is analyzed.An experimental study on machining characteristics with face milling cutter is conducted. According to range analysis, influences of machining parameters on machining characteristics are studied. The mutual influences among the machining characteristics with face milling cutter as cutter wear, cutting forces, cutting vibration and roughness of the workpiece are analyzed by the gray system theory.Optimum design target and influencing factor is layered by interpretive structural model, got the hierarchical relationship among optimum design target and influencing factor, The parameter optimization design method and rules of the surfaces of static and dynamic joint surfaces with face milling cutter rests on on this foundation, and the methods was experimentally proved by Machining Test.
