Due to frequent accidents of food safety accidents, the rapid development of various types of milk detection methods. The light scattering detection method in the field of milk detection has a wide development prospect and technological advantages. But this potential detection method is still in the laboratory stage and not being widely put into the market. The main reason is that there is no sufficient discussion on the optical properties of milk, which leads to the technical problems in precision control. In this paper, the particle size distribution of fat particles in milk fat solution was studied, and the influence of particle size distribution on milk composition was discussed.For the analysis of milk fat particle optical properties, the particle size distribution influence on component measurement and correction of calculating parameters of milk fat detection, this paper based on the application of image processing technology to analysis the milk fat particle images to get the fat particle size distribution. In considering the light absorption of the premise, improved the scattered through ratio theoretical model and fat concentration calculation model. Using the Mie scattering theory, the calculation model of particle size distribution of milk fat particle light scattering characteristics was set up. Based on the established model, the light scattering properties of single fat particles and the light scattering properties of the multi-diameter distribution were carefully discussed, with the particles with different size, wavelength and concentration. By IR analysis experiment for comparison, this paper detailed analysis of the particle size distribution of the existence of absorption coefficient, scattered through ratio. According to the conclusions of the analysis, the influence on component measurement of particle size distribution was discussed. The results show that, due to the fat particles in milk fat solution of scattering coefficient and absorption coefficient changes with the size distribution change, the light scattering characteristics are different between fat particle size distribution and application of average particle size. When the wavelength of the light source is between 800nm~1600nm, ignoring the particle size distribution of existence will lead to lower scattered through ratio detection consequence and concentration detection consequence. And ignoring the light absorption effect will lead to higher scattered through ratio detection consequence and concentration detection consequence. The higher the concentration of the solution, the more obvious effect on the component detection will be.The milk fat particle size distribution can not be ignored in the process of light scattering detection. To improve the optical properties of milk fat particles, it is helpful to the precision control of the light scattering technology in milk detection. This paper has important significance to promote the development of milk safety detection, improve the accuracy of milk fat detection, and speed up the milk quality online measurement.
