This paper formulates Tie-dyeing craft of the Bai nationality living in Zhou Cheng village, Yunnan province in four aspects which are historical origin, craft and techniques, multiple values and industrial problem. Through the fieldwork strategy of stagnation point tracking in Zhou Cheng village nearly a year, the author carries out the original craft experiment and practical exploration combined the field trip with modern design methods. The author uses three aspects to demonstrate the process of craft experiment, which are the process of collecting and researching of embroider craft, deduction of the conception from the embroider process and the experiment on different tie-dye fabric materials, and draws the innovative techniques combined traditional craft with modern design.In the wave of the development of industrialization and urbanization, as an inherited project of intangible cultural heritage of Yunnan province, tie-dyeing craft also faces a series of social, economic and cultural issues. Based on the research and practice of tie-dyeing craft, from the perspective of art design professional background, the author tries to apply the modern inheritance method to product design, and then design the era style household products to realize the tie-dye crafts becoming part of the modern way of life, which is good for the sustainability of craft inheritance of traditional intangible cultural heritage.
