For the prosperous of Chinese food culture and the fast development of food processing industry, the proportion of kitchen waste is growing rapidly. Kitchen waste has the characteristic of high moisture content, perishable, easy to breed insect and bacteria which threaten the living environment and heath of people seriously. On the other hand, kitchen waste is a kind of resource which contains a lot of organic matter. So the recycling of kitchen waste is becoming a research focus.Via the research on many kind of kitchen waste sample, found the influence feature of moisture content and lignin content on the hydrothermal conversion. Then chose cabbage leaf and walnut shell to represent the high moisture content and low moisture content kitchen waste respectively. Used the hydrothermal conversion as core process. Researched the influence of hydrothermal temperature, KOH dosage, NH4OH dosage, and residence time on hydrothermal conversion process. Optimized the process of NH4OH-KOH alkali catalysis hydrothermal conversion of kitchen waste to prepare humic acid.According to the conversion rate of low moisture content kitchen waste, offered the proposal of changing the solid waste of hydrothermal process to be activated carbon. The activated carbon made by this method has shorter process and good adsorption and specific surface area. Tested the physical and chemical properties of the liquid made by hydrothermal process. According to the results, the liquid product has the similar functional structure as commercial activated carbon and it contains certain proportion of N、P and K. The liquid has the potential to develop into humic acid soluble fertilizer.
